The Association of Horizon, Inc. will be holding its 6th annual golf outing on Saturday, June 14. Golf will begin at 2 p.m. and followed by our Hawaiian Luau celebration. Horizon has been working hard to plan this event and we are looking for fellow members to help volunteer for the event. There is a lot involved in making our fundraiser successful. Whether you are able to volunteer just part of the afternoon or evening or the entire day, we have something for you to do. The committee is currently looking for volunteers to help sit on some holes to witness a hole-in-one opportunities.

Congratulations Kara Stout. Kara is the winner of Horizon’s inaugural Horizon Hope Grant program. This year there were several applicants and it was difficult choosing just one. Kara is currently going to school to become an Occupational Therapist and she will apply the grant towards her college tuition. The 2009 Horizon Hope application will be available online soon. This years award was presented at the Spring for Horizon benefit held March 29. To see pictures of this year’s event please click on the gallery link.

This summer camp committee is working hard planning summer camp “LAS VEGAS” for the week of July 13. If you plan on attending, please send in your application or fill it out online. Now we have a convenient way for everyone to check if their friends have completed their applications by clicking applicants received. There is still space available so contact your friends and have them register. Horizon will also need volunteers to help with set up and tear down of camp. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of camp if you cannot attend the whole week. To find out more information about helping with set up or tear down, please e-mail John Meneghini. Thursday, March 13, the Morton Grove Foundation will hold its annual fundraiser to benefit local charities. This year’s “Taste of History” will begin at 5:30 pm. The event will be held at White Eagle Banquets & Restaurant in Niles Illinois and ticket price is $40 at the door. The Association of Horizon, Inc. has been selected as one of the several beneficiaries. Come show your support for Horizon and thank the Morton Grove Foundation for their hard work and believing in our organization.

Welcome to the brand-new Association of Horizon, Inc. web site. This new site has everything you need to know about our organization, in a simple user-friendly format. Our new gallery makes it easy to view pictures of events over the years. Another new feature is the ability to register for events online, and Horizon will also be accepting credit card donations/payments online using PayPal. Saturday, February 9, Horizon held its annual Chicago Wolves outing. This year we had nearly 60 people participate and they were treated to a sensational game. The Wolves beat the Milwaukee Admirals by a score of 3-1. It was a well played game with a lot of action. Thank you to everyone who attended and keep checking back for updates for next season’s outing.

Join us at Hackney’s restaurant in Glenview Illinois on Saturday, January 5. Visit with friends and family from camp, to reminisce about previous camps and start promoting this year’s camp.
