Bags Were Flying!
It was a stormy start to the day and many did not think that Horizon’s 1st Annual Bags Tournament would take place. Fortunately, the rain stopped and we were luckily enough to have cool temperatures and cloudy skies. Lady luck was definitely on our side. The first-year event went very well even though the weather wasn’t the best and it was planned in a short amount of time. There were 55 people in attendance and through people’s generous donations we raised over $600! Congratulations to Jason Michael and Scott Ladson for showing their beanbag skills and winning the tournament. Start practicing and looking for a quality partner because the event will return next summer which will be bigger and better!
A special thanks to Michael Meyer for his hard work in planning and organizing this successful impromptu fundraiser.
Another Great Success!
After six months of planning, Horizon’s 8th Annual Golf Outing and Luau arrived back on August 7. This year’s outing went off without a hitch, the weather was beautiful and everyone had a great time. There were 72 golfers and over 160 luau participants. This is a great number despite the current economic situation. The event had many new attendees this year and we are looking forward to seeing all of come back next year.
We would like to think the entire committee for their hard work and dedication. With everyone’s help we’ve raised nearly $15,000! One of our highest totals over the years.
