Horizon will benefit from…
The Morton Grove Foundation hosts an annual charity fundraiser and this year’s is on Thursday, March 5. “TASTE OF PARADISE” will be held at White Eagle Banquets & Restaurant, 6845 Milwaukee Ave. in Niles, Illinois. The foundation offers cuisine served by many of the area’s finest restaurants, along with raffles, silent auction and a live auction. Money from this event will be donated to some local charities and Horizon has been selected as a benefactor.
Admission tickets are $30 presale or $40 at the door. Raffle tickets are also available. Great time had by all
I would personally like to thank everyone on the Night at the Races Committee for putting together a wonderful fundraising event for Horizon. Everyone made you feel like you were in Las Vegas, especially seeing Elvis and Lady luck in person. The buffet dinner was excellent and there were a large selection of prizes that people won. I only wish luck could of shined on me to win a prize but I still came home happy knowing that I was able to help a wonderful organization.

11th Annual Night at the Races
Horizon’s 11th Annual Night at the Races is quickly approaching. This has been our biggest fundraiser for the past 7 or 8 years and we need your to help keep the streak alive. We still have seats available for the wonderful 2 hour buffet overlooking the racetrack at Balmoral Park. Our Year-Long Raffle is off to a great start!
We have had four drawings so far (one monthly & three weekly) and one of the numbers has already hit twice! Tracy B has lucky number 638, which was our first monthly drawing winner on the August 1st mid-day drawing and the August 15th Friday evening weekly winner! Our other weekly winners are Joe G (Friday, August 1st ) and Kathleen Q (Friday, August 8th ). There are 68 chances to win!
52 weekly winners ($50), 12 monthly winners ($100) & 4 quarterly winners ($250).
The cost of a ticket is $10 and only 1000 tickets are being sold (and must be sold by Aug 1).
The tickets are numbered 000 – 999 and the winners are based on the IL Lottery numbers drawn for the specified time and date (see sample ticket below for more information).

Calling All Volunteers…
The Association of Horizon, Inc. will be holding its 6th annual golf outing on Saturday, June 14.? Golf will begin at 2 p.m. and followed by our Hawaiian Luau celebration.? Horizon has been working hard to plan this event and we are looking for fellow members to help volunteer for the event.? There is a lot involved in making our fundraiser successful.? Whether you are able to volunteer just part of the afternoon or evening or the entire day, we have something for you to do.? The committee is currently looking for volunteers to help sit on some holes to witness a hole-in-one opportunities.

And the Winner Is…
Congratulations Kara Stout. Kara is the winner of Horizon’s inaugural Horizon Hope Grant program. This year there were several applicants and it was difficult choosing just one. Kara is currently going to school to become an Occupational Therapist and she will apply the grant towards her college tuition. The 2009 Horizon Hope application will be available online soon.
