And so will Horizon Summer Camp 2011. The week to set for July 24-30, and it will be held at the beautiful Timber Pointe Outdoor Center located in Hudson Illinois. Start the new year off right and join your friends from Horizon at Hackney’s on Lake Street in Glenview Illinois. Saturday, January 8 we will be hosting our annual recruitment kickoff party. You could be one of the first to complete their summer camp application for 2011. This will be our 20th year of camp. Camp applications will be available online Sunday, January 9!

Horizon Holiday Family Party
Horizon held its annual holiday family party on Saturday, December 11. A special thanks to Marcy Davis for organizing this fun event. Even though some of the how of the trivia questions were tough, everyone enjoyed playing along. The usual the Avalon Banquet Hall served us delicious food and we look forward to going back there next year.

2011 Camp Kickoff Party
It is almost time to ring in the New Year and kick off the 2011 Horizon Camp season. Join us on January 8 from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., at Hackney’s, 1514 E. Lake Ave, Glenview. You could be among the first to fill out your camp application, while hanging out with friends and enjoy some delicious complementary appetizers.

Tastefully Simple/Cocktail Party
Thank you to everyone who attended Horizon’s first Tastefully Simple/Cocktail Party on Saturday, December 4, hosted by Kathy Kingston & Geri Skudney. It was a great time and it’s always good when we are raising money for Horizon!
Also a big thank you to Amy from the Tuscan Market and Wine Shop, in Arlington Heights, for allowing us to have the party there.
Another Fun Shop with a Friend Event
Saturday, November 20 was the day many Horizon members started their holiday shopping. The day started early with several of the members gathering at the Hampton Inn conference room for a quick breakfast before heading to Gurnee Mills Mall. Everyone who attended received a nice gift bag with some holiday treats and the campers had a special treat in their bags, courtesy of PNC Bank. After we collected all our bargains from the mall, it was time to head back to the Hampton Inn for Horizon’s version of a holiday meal prepared by Boston Market. Once dinner was over everyone enjoyed each other’s company while playing games, wrapping gifts, or just telling stories and laughing until we cried. As usual, this event was a lot of fun for everyone in attendance. Hope to see you next year!

Horizon’s Beach Party
We have set this year’s HORIZON’S BEACH PARTY for Sunday, August 8 at Montrose Beach. We need people to help with the event, meaning get there early to did a nice shady spot. To help with this committee, please contact anna.lopez@associationofhorizon.org.
Horizon will provide place, napkin and utensils. Please bring your favorite dish to share. It will be a fun time had by all.
