2012 Horizon Summer Camp is six months away
The people have decided and this year’s summer camp theme is GAME SHOW MANIA! At our Hackney’s event, attendees were asked to select this year’s theme and in a close vote, Game Show Mania edged out Horizon Cruise.

Horizon Shop with a Friend
In case you haven’t heard, the holiday season is approaching quickly. Come join Horizon friends and family at our annual Shop with a Friend trip. On Saturday, November 19, plan on shopping til you drop and then come back to the Hampton Inn Hotel for a Gift Wrapping/Pizza Party around 6:30 pm. Horizon Hope 2012 is now available
The Horizon Hope application for 2012 is available online. To apply for this year’s grant, click Horizon Hope page to download the form. There have been a couple of minor changes so please read the entire application.
Horizon Celebrates 20 years!
On Saturday, August 13 approximately 100 members of Horizon came together to celebrate our 20th Anniversary. A good mix of new and old braved the rain storm and enjoyed time with good food, friends, and entertainment. A special things to the committee, Board of Directors, and our fabulous volunteers from 50 works in 50 weeks.

Reunite with friends from Horizon over the years and enjoy an afternoon barbecue. The whole family is invited to enjoy a DJ, games, arts & crafts and much more! Show your spirit by wearing your favorite camp T-shirt and bring your old photos, so we can reminisce and see how Horizon has grown and changed over the past 20 years.

I’m so excited!!
Here is a tentative list of this year’s summer camp activities. The committee has worked hard to give all participants a variety of activities to enjoy. Back by popular demand “HANDICAP THIS!” & VICTOR PACINI, will be performing live and they know how to put on a performance. We are excited for bringing the talents of the VITO ZATTO SHOW for an early afternoon show. People will need to arrive early to get a good seat for these entertaining performances. Attention new Horizon camp volunteers
All new Horizon volunteers will be required to attend one pre-camp orientation. For everyone’s convenience there are three different dates and locations from which to choose. At the orientation we will review what to bring to camp, what our expectations of you as a volunteer are, our daily camp schedule and much more. You will be receiving an e-mail requesting that you RSVP to one of the following dates: Saturday, June 4 (Southside), Tuesday, June 7 (Northside), or Saturday, June 18 (Aurora). New Horizon volunteers please keep an eye on your e-mail for more details on these orientations.
