VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Medications, equipment, treatment, therapy.  For an adult with a physical disability, sometimes the list of financial liabilities can seem endless.  Horizon volunteers work tirelessly throughout the year to raise funds and ensure that every camper can attend summer camp without worrying about the expense of room and board.  When it comes to making this happen, there is no limit to the number of volunteers needed for Horizon to continue offering summer camp and other activities throughout the year.

Summer Camp Attendant

At Horizon’s summer camp, each camper is assigned a one-on-one attendant. The camp attendant is responsible for assisting the camper with their daily needs and helping the camper enjoy the camp activities.  Anyone 16 years or older, who is able to donate a week of their time and energy is welcome to apply to be a camp attendant.  Volunteers under 18 years of age are required to have the consent of an adult or legal guardian.

No prior experience is necessary, just a willingness to help.  All new camp volunteers will attend an orientation session, held prior to camp, to prepare you for camp.  Once you are at camp, you will link arms with a team leader and receive a more detailed orientation.

To volunteer for camp see additional information.

Thank you to all who helped make Horizon’s 2017 Camp a great success!  Check back in January 2018 for information regarding opportunities to volunteer at Horizon’s 2018 Summer Camp.
